Lena Kitzing

Lena Kitzing is Professor in Renewable Energy Economics and Policy and Head of the Wind Energy Systems Division at the Department of Wind and Energy Systems, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). She also holds a part-time professorship at the European University Institute and serves on the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change. Her work bridges academia, industry, and policy, with a focus on renewable energy deployment and integration.

Her research centers on energy economics and policy, particularly in renewable energy auctions, offshore wind financing, mechanism design, risk management, and energy transition governance. She leads and contributes to major international projects such as AURES, PROMOTiON, and IEA TCP Wind Task 53, and has advised the European Commission, Danish Energy Agency, and German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
