Lena Baumgartner

Lena Baumgartner is a Junior Researcher at the Institute of Creative Media/Technologies, St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, within the Department of Media and Digital Technologies. She is a member of the Media Computing Research Group.

Her educational background includes:

• Bachelor of Science in Media Technology from St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences (2021)
• Master in Interactive Technologies from St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences (2023)

Her research interests span UI/UX Design, Narrative Design and Storytelling, Environmental Storytelling, and Game Design and Gamification. She emphasizes the integration of these areas to create innovative user experiences, stating: 'UX is as much a vital part of myself as storytelling and gamification. Those aspects are not inherently separated either, considering that all three can take on various shapes and sizes. I enjoy combining them and pushing their boundaries to create something unique and new.'

She has been involved in several projects including Tovies, FairMedia, KüKeN, ERIKA, CWSEL (Citizen workshops on sustainable everyday life), and CLUE (a new software test for the aviation industry).

As a Junior Researcher, she contributes to the research activities of the Media Computing Research Group. Her career progression at the university includes roles as a Student Assistant (2021-2023), Research Assistant (2023), and now Junior Researcher (since 2024).
