Leila Alamri-Kassim is an Adjunct Professor of Law at San Joaquin College of Law, where she teaches Advanced Research & Writing. She holds a J.D. from San Joaquin College of Law (2016, Distinction) and a B.A. from California State University, Fresno. Prior to academia, she worked at Lozano Smith representing public agencies in voting rights, student/free speech rights, labor relations, and transactional matters. She also served as Deputy County Counsel for Madera County, handling habeas corpus petitions.
Professor Kassim is the first Yemeni-American woman licensed attorney in her community and California. She actively mentors underrepresented communities and women in law. Beyond her legal roles, she is a Lecturer at California State University, Fresno, a Certified Yoga Instructor, and a mother of two daughters. She has received numerous awards, including the Leon S. Peters Leadership Award and multiple Witkin Awards for academic excellence.
Her work bridges public law advocacy and community empowerment, with a focus on advancing access to justice for marginalized groups. She balances legal education with interdisciplinary interests in wellness and cultural representation in legal professions.
