Leif Sorensen is a Professor of English at Colorado State University, specializing in 20th-21st century multi-ethnic American literatures. He holds a Ph.D. from New York University with a focus on modernism and transnational writing. His research bridges ethnic studies, modernist aesthetics, and environmental critique.

Research focuses on Indigenous modernism, non-human apocalyptic narratives, and the intersection of ethnic literatures with global modernist movements. His book Ethnic Modernism and the Making of US Literary Multiculturalism (2016) reinterprets foundational texts in U.S. multiculturalism.
Recent publications explore punk subcultures, radio ethnography, and transnational speculative fiction. Teaching includes courses on Asian American literature, Native American narratives, and climate fiction's engagement with environmental sociology.
