Leia Lozano

Leia Lozano is a Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences at St. Mary's University and serves as the Undergraduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (U-RISE) Program Assistant. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science-Toxicology from the University of Texas Health Science Center (2012) and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University (2009). Currently board-certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology, she previously worked in forensic toxicology in Houston, TX, and served as an adjunct professor at St. Mary's.

Lozano actively contributes to environmental education as a Texas Master Naturalist and Texas Waters Specialist, volunteering as a trail monitor at the Headwaters of the Incarnate Word and at the Witte Museum.
