Lei Xiang

Dr. Lei Xiang is a Researcher in the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS). He holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and has over 11 years of industry experience. His research focuses on advanced biomedical imaging technologies, including optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescence imaging, and medical ultrasound, aiming to develop high-resolution, molecular contrast imaging solutions for studying vascular health and disease mechanisms. He is part of the intravascular imaging team led by Associate Professor Jiawen Li, collaborating with experts like Prof. Robert McLaughlin and Dr. Alok Kushwaha.

Dr. Xiang’s work contributes to understanding plaque evolution, heart attack mechanisms, and cellular-level treatment impacts. He is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students as a co-supervisor. His office is located in Room 3.49, Ingkarni Wardli building on the North Terrace campus.
