Lee Papa is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of English at the College of Staten Island, where he has served as chair for ten years. He specializes in playwriting and dramatic literature, with a focus on social activist theatre and performance studies. His scholarly works include Staged Action: Six Plays from the American Workers’ Theatre (2009) and The Rude Pundit’s Almanack (2012). His plays, such as It’s the End of the World As We Know It..., have been performed across the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, Lee is a political commentator featured on radio and television.

Research Interests:
Lee’s research explores the intersection of theatre with social movements, historical memory, and community engagement.
