Lee Frankel-Goldwater is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder and an ASSETT Faculty Fellow. His work focuses on social innovation and environmental education, emphasizing collaborative approaches to community engagement in environmental initiatives. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies (University of Colorado Boulder, 2022), an M.A. in Environmental Conservation Education (New York University, 2011), and a B.S. in Computer Science (University of Rochester, 2006).
Research interests include environmental education, collaborative planning, sustainable agriculture transitions, and community-based research methods. Lee has led projects with organizations like Boulder Food Rescue, The Sustainability Laboratory, and the Earth Child Institute, focusing on cross-border environmental initiatives and cross-cultural understanding. His teaching emphasizes transformative pedagogy and innovative educational approaches.
His recent publications explore topics such as regenerative agriculture adoption, network governance, and academic diversity patterns. Lee advises graduate students on projects aligning with his expertise in environmental education and sustainable systems. He aims to bridge cultural divides and build equitable global environmental programs through education and collaboration.
