Lee A Cooper, PhD, is the Joseph C. Calandra Research Professor of Pathology and Toxicology and Associate Professor in McCormick School of Engineering and Pathology at Northwestern University. He directs the Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and leads the Computational and Integrative Pathology Group. He received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ohio State University (2009) and previously held roles at Emory University and Georgia Institute of Technology.
His research focuses on machine learning applications in cancer, including predictive algorithms for clinical outcomes using genomic, imaging, and histopathology data, and development of software tools for managing large biomedical datasets. Key areas include computational pathology for cancer prognosis, tumor-immune interaction analysis, and AI-driven diagnostic systems. His work is supported by NIH grants (NLM, NCI, NIBIB, NINDS) and industry collaborations.
