Lech Trzcionkowski

Lech Trzcionkowski is Professor at Jagiellonian University's Institute of Religious Studies, Faculty of Philosophy, specializing in ancient Greek religion and Orphic traditions. Educated under Edward Zwolski (KUL) and Benedetto Bravo (UW), his research examines religious practices in Greek city-states, Homeric religious paradigms, and reception of Orphic texts in late antiquity.

Current projects include a monograph on Orphic poem reception and the 'Religious Library of Late Antique Philosophers' translation series. Earlier work investigated sacrificial terminology and symbolic artifacts like Orphic tablets from Olbia. Teaching encompasses religious anthropology and methodological approaches to classical religious studies.

Trzcionkowski contributes to interdisciplinary dialogues through publications on religious pedagogy and critical theory applications in religious studies curricula. His scholarship combines philological analysis with material culture studies to reconstruct ancient belief systems.
