Dr Leah Sharman is an ARC DECRA Research Fellow at the School of Psychology, The University of Queensland, with research spanning Social Psychology, Emotion Psychology, and Health Psychology. Her work intersects with Law, Medicine, and Public Health through interdisciplinary collaborations.
- PhD in Psychology (2019), focusing on crying interpretation and functions
- Current research: loneliness in post-escape domestic violence survivors
Key research areas include:
- Sexual strangulation during consensual activities
- Reproductive coercion in Queensland
- Antimicrobial stewardship in remote hospitals
- Music's role in emotional regulation

- Developed social prescribing frameworks for loneliness
