معرفی
Leah M. Vucetich is a Research Assistant Professor at Michigan Technological University, affiliated with the Molecular and Foraging Ecology Lab. Her work focuses on non-invasive genetic sampling of wildlife populations, particularly Isle Royale wolves and moose, through scat analysis, hair sampling, and bone/teeth studies. She also investigates moose diet and forage quality via microhistological and chemical analyses.
Research Interests:
- Wildlife genetics and conservation
- Non-invasive ecological monitoring
- Foraging behavior and food-web dynamics
- Wildlife health assessment via biomarkers
- Population viability in isolated ecosystems
Key Publications (2014–2019) reveal expertise in genomic inbreeding effects, herbivore foraging strategies, and wildlife disease ecology. Her work bridges molecular genetics with ecosystem-scale dynamics.
Labs & Teams: She leads the Molecular and Foraging Ecology Lab and participates annually in Isle Royale wolf-moose field operations.
