Leah Harper is an Assistant Professor in the Liberal Studies Department at North Carolina A&T State University and concurrently serves as an American Studies Instructor at the competitive North Carolina School of Science and Math in Durham, NC. She holds a Ph.D. in Africana Studies (2022), an M.A. in English Literature from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in English Arts (magna cum laude) from Hampton University. As a William Fontaine Fellow of Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, her research focuses on intersections of black feminism, digital humanities, new media theory, and urban studies. Her current project involves a documentary examining gentrification in Washington, D.C., blending critical race theory with sociological analysis.
