Dr. Lea Johnson serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture within the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her academic work integrates fundamental plant ecology with practical land management applications.
Her research program investigates multi-scale ecological processes including:
- Urbanization impacts on vegetation dynamics
- Long-term outcomes of ecological restoration projects
- Scientific frameworks for improving ecosystem functions
- Network development for urban biodiversity management
