Larry Winner is a Lecturer in the Department of Statistics at the University of Florida, within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from North Carolina State University (1994), an M.A. in Applied Statistics from Ohio State University (1986), and a B.S. in Statistics from the University of Florida (1985). His primary research interest is in statistical education, focusing on pedagogical methods and curriculum development in statistics.
Winner teaches a wide range of courses including Regression Analysis (STA 4210/4211), Design and Analysis of Experiments (STA 4211), Introduction to Statistics Theory (STA 4321/5325), and Matrix Algebra and Statistical Computing (STA 6329). He emphasizes applied statistical techniques and computational tools, particularly using R and matrix methods.
He has received the Teaching Improvement Program (TIP) Award in 1996, recognizing excellence in pedagogy. His professional activities include developing course materials, maintaining detailed syllabi, and contributing to statistical education resources such as case studies and datasets.
