Lawrence Wallen is Professor at the University of Technology Sydney's School of Architecture, specializing in Interior Architecture. Previously Head of School Design at UTS (2009-2018) and Professor at Zurich University of the Arts, his research explores cosmopoiesis, virtual models, and performative approaches to spatial design. His creative practice includes residencies at Darat al Funun (Jordan) and exhibitions worldwide.
Research interests focus on virtual environments, scenographic epistemologies, and the intersection of art with architectural theory. Recent work examines how digital models facilitate world-making in interdisciplinary contexts.
Publications demonstrate consistent exploration of design pedagogy, cultural landscapes, and technological innovation. A 2021 cluster of articles analyzes virtual modeling's impact on theatre and spatial practice.
