Lawrence P. Greksa

Lawrence P. Greksa is a Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. His research integrates evolutionary and ecological frameworks to explore biological and cultural adaptations to environmental and socio-cultural stressors.

Education:

• Ph.D., The Pennsylvania State University, 1980

Research Interests: Greksa investigates human adaptations to stressors, including:

• High-altitude physiological and genetic adaptations in Highland Andeans
• Socio-cultural and demographic impacts of modernization on the Old Order Amish
• Developmental vs. genetic factors in human resilience

Teaching: He offers introductory courses in physical anthropology and advanced courses in human population biology and quantitative methods.
