Lawrence Hamilton

Lawrence Hamilton serves as Professor holding the SA UK Bilateral Research Chair in Political Theory at the University of Cambridge, jointly with the University of the Witwatersrand, within the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS). He directs the Witwatersrand-Cambridge Exchange Programme (APTA) and Critical South, a scholarly blog and podcast platform.

His research spans political theory, historical analysis of political and economic thought, South African political systems, and contemporary challenges to democracy.
