Larry Ayotte is a Program Coordinator and Lecturer in Photography at Husson University’s College of Business, within the New England School of Communications. With nearly 50 years of experience in still photography and video production, his career spans roles in the U.S. Air Force, commercial photography, NBC affiliate news videography, and Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN). He transitioned to digital photography in the 2000s, blending traditional techniques with modern technology.
Education includes an associate’s degree, a B.A.S. in Human Behavior from the University of Maine (Augusta), and an M.A. in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). His master’s thesis, Reflections, emphasized minimalist photography using early 20th-century-inspired techniques.
Teaching since 1998, he developed foundational courses like Digital Still Photography, Photo II, Photojournalism, and Forensic Photography. His pedagogy integrates historical photographic principles with contemporary digital practices. Notably, his Emmy nominations for MPBN work highlight his impactful media contributions.
