Professor Lavinia Barone is a Full Professor at the University of Pavia, affiliated with the School of Psychology and Neuroscience and the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. Her research focuses on socio-emotional development, attachment mechanisms, and risk factors in child development, integrating observational methods, molecular genetics, and intervention studies. She specializes in prevention science, particularly evidence-based interventions targeting familial well-being, and has expertise in Borderline Personality Disorder treatment models, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Research Interests:
- Longitudinal cohort studies and multivariate data analysis in developmental contexts
- Atypical parenting and socioemotional outcomes in adoptive and same-sex families
