Laval Duncan is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and African American Studies at Wayne State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on American literary and cultural studies, African American studies, Detroit oral history, and poetry education. He has received a grant from the Michigan Humanities Council for educational development.
