Laurent Simon is a Professor and Director of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at HEC Montréal. He holds a Ph.D. in Administration from HEC Montréal, following a M.Sc. in Management (HEC Montréal) and a D.E.S.C. in Management (Rouen). His research focuses on large firms, communities, and creative cities, with expertise in management, new technologies, and the knowledge economy.
Dr. Simon’s work explores innovation ecosystems, particularly in aerospace clusters, healthcare co-creation, and video game industry dynamics. He has advised over 60 students across PhD, Master’s, and project supervisions, emphasizing entrepreneurship, innovation management, and organizational transformation. His publications span journals like ZFW – Advances in Economic Geography and Industry and Innovation, as well as books on communities of innovation. Teaching includes courses on strategic management, design thinking, and innovation in creative sectors.
