Laurent Herment

Laurent Herment is a CNRS Researcher at the Centre for Historical Research (CRH) within the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS). His work bridges economic history, agricultural history, and rural history, with a focus on 19th-century France and broader European contexts. He co-leads the Geomatics Engineering Center for History, integrating spatial analysis tools into historical research.

• Research: Examines fertilizer markets, agricultural specialization, and rural socio-economic dynamics. Key projects include the GDRI-AAA (Agriculture, Supply, Food) and CRICEC (Crises in European Countryside).
