Lauren Torlone is a Lecturer in the Department of Media and Communication at Salem State University. She teaches courses including Media in Our Lives, Communication Research Methods, and Gender, Media, and Communication, blending practical journalism experience with academic instruction.

Her research and teaching focus on mass media's societal impact, data-driven journalism, and gender representation in media. She integrates her decade of experience in national broadcast news networks (CNN, Fox News, C-SPAN) covering politics and breaking news into her pedagogy.
Lauren is also an adjunct journalism professor and contributing writer at Northshore Magazine. She balances academia with family life on Boston's North Shore and pop culture enthusiasm.
