Dr Lauren Macreadie is a DECRA fellow and UNSW Scientia Fellow serving as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Chemistry at the University of New South Wales. She leads research on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for critical energy applications including hydrogen storage, transport, and generation systems.
Her research focuses on porous materials with exceptionally high surface areas, investigating how inorganic clusters bridged by organic linkers form 3D frameworks capable of gas storage, separation, catalysis, and drug delivery. Current work emphasizes solving energy challenges through advanced material design for sustainable hydrogen economies.
Scientific recognition includes the RACI Rita Cornforth Award. Her research is supported by significant grants including ARC DECRA, ARC Linkage (x2), and UNSW Scientia funding.
- ARC DECRA Fellowship
- ARC Linkage Projects (2)
- UNSW Scientia Fellowship
Dr Macreadie maintains active laboratory facilities at UNSW's Dalton Building (Room 224) with collaborative ties to defense and energy sectors. Her career spans international research institutions including Trinity College Dublin, CSIRO, Massey University, and the University of Sydney before joining UNSW in 2022.
