Lauren M Goodspeed serves as Senior Lecturer in the Department of French & Italian at the University of Minnesota, actively researching social justice integration in postsecondary language education. Dr. Goodspeed leads the project "Social Justice in Language Education: Postsecondary Instructor's Cognition and Identity Construction" (2021-2023) and contributes as Co-Investigator to two U.S. Department of Education initiatives: the Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA) application (2022-2026) and the SOCIAL SCILS project (2020-2024), which develops materials strengthening career competencies and intercultural understanding.

She collaborates extensively with the Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA), working alongside Kate Paesani, Megan Menke, and Heather Ruf to create resources supporting language educators in implementing socially just practices across multiple linguistic contexts.
