Lauren Crowe is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Biology at Tufts University, part of the School of Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD in Cell Biology from Duke University (2016) and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2010). Her current focus is on innovative teaching strategies that promote equity and critical thinking in STEM education, particularly for nontraditional students. Prior research involved neurodevelopmental studies in mice and Drosophila sleep regulation mechanisms, with contributions to cancer cell metabolism research. She is a TEACRS scholar and has received multiple awards for her academic outreach and mentorship. Dr. Crowe teaches courses in Cell Biology, Research Methods, and introductory biology, emphasizing active learning and inclusive pedagogy.
