Lauren Butler

Lauren Butler serves as an Optometrist in the Department of Ophthalmology at Boston Children's Hospital and holds an academic appointment as Instructor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. She specializes in pediatric vision care with clinical expertise across multiple locations including Waltham and Peabody, Massachusetts.

Dr. Butler's clinical practice focuses on comprehensive pediatric eye examinations, strabismus management, amblyopia treatment, specialized contact lens fitting, vision therapy, and myopia control protocols. Her training included externships at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and University Hospitals in Cleveland, followed by a pediatric optometry residency involving rotations at Boston Children's Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, and Perkins School for the Blind.

As part of Boston Children's Hospital's ophthalmology team, Dr. Butler contributes to the Contact Lens Service and Vision Therapy Service, providing patient-centered care for children with diverse vision needs. The Department of Ophthalmology at Boston Children's is recognized as having the largest group of full-time pediatric ophthalmology specialists in the United States.
