Lauren Brumley is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the College of Sciences and Mathematics at West Chester University. Her research examines how childhood adversity and trauma impact adolescent and young adult development, focusing on future goal formation, environmental influences like poverty and social support, and interventions within child welfare systems. She utilizes nationally representative datasets and original data collection to inform policies breaking cycles of trauma.
Dr. Brumley teaches graduate courses in Child Psychopathology, Child and Family Therapy, Clinical Supervision, and Ethics. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes anti-racist practice and universal design, fostering inclusive learning environments through active engagement and structured support.
Her publications demonstrate methodological expertise in longitudinal analysis, measure development, and intervention research, consistently addressing trauma mechanisms and developmental outcomes across diverse populations.
