Laure Morimont is a Researcher at the Namur Research Institute for Life Sciences, part of the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Research Unit. Her research focuses on thrombosis, coagulation disorders, and the effects of hormonal therapies and contraceptives on blood clotting. She contributes to projects like the COVILAB initiative on SARS-CoV-2 and the HIC Project evaluating hormone-induced coagulopathy. Morimont has received awards including the 2021 Best Oral Presentation and the 2020 Belgian MedTech Program recognition. Her work spans clinical pharmacology, venous thromboembolism risk assessment, and coagulation testing innovations.
- Key Projects:
- Clinical Pharmacology Research Group (2022–present)
- COVILAB: SARS-CoV-2 investigations (2020–present)
- HIC Project: Hormone-induced coagulopathy evaluation (2019–2023)
- Research Interests:
- Thrombin generation and anticoagulant efficacy
- Risk assessment of hormonal therapies
- Coagulopathy in pregnancy and cancer patients
Her articles emphasize anticoagulant pharmacodynamics, contraceptive safety, and clinical diagnostic tools like the DOAC Dipstick. Morimont actively collaborates internationally and presents at conferences such as the ISTH Congress. She also leads studies on thrombosis prediction models and coagulation assay standardization.
