Dr. Laura Zieseler is a Scientific Associate at the Chair of Scandinavian Linguistics, Institute for Finnish and Scandinavian Studies, University of Greifswald. She specializes in Scandinavian linguistics, with a focus on the integration of non-native nouns in Faroese, grammatical borrowings, and language contact phenomena.
Her research interests include:
- Scandinavian Linguistics
- Faroese Language
- Historical Linguistics
- Language Contact and Borrowing
- Grammatical Integration of Non-Native Vocabulary
She was awarded the 2020 Doctoral Prize by the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Greifswald for her dissertation On the Integration of Non-Native Nouns in Faroese. Her current projects include habilitation research.
