Laura Trovellesi Cesana is a seasoned journalist and academic with a focus on media history, institutional communication, and the regulatory evolution of telecommunications. She holds degrees from the University of Naples 'L'Orientale' (Languages, History, and Cultures of the Mediterranean and Islamic Countries) and the University of Macerata (European Union and International Relations).

Her research delves into the digital transformation of legislative assemblies, the interplay between media and freedom of expression, and the historical portrayal of Italian colonization in Libya. She has authored studies on the 1911 Italo-Turkish War and its media propaganda, as well as gender representation in colonial press narratives.
As Deputy Director of the Senate Press and Internet Office (2006–2015), she edited the quarterly Galassia Gutenberg and co-authored the annual Massimario, a disciplinary compendium for Italian journalists. She has also led training courses on social media ethics and institutional communication strategies.
Her career spans roles at RaiDue (1996–1998), Asca, Agi, and Il Nuovo.it, alongside fieldwork for Eurispes on social and cultural issues in Rome (1994–1996). She remains active in analyzing the impact of digital technologies on public discourse and journalism.
