Laura T. Gantt

Laura T. Gantt is a Professor and Associate Dean for Nursing Support Services at the College of Nursing, East Carolina University. She oversees simulation and skills labs, instructional technology, Student Services, and the Student Development and Counseling Center (SDCC). Her email is ganttl@ecu.edu.

• Education: PhD in Nursing from the University of Colorado.

Dr. Gantt specializes in simulation-based nursing education, with research focusing on interprofessional training, emergency care operations, and patient safety. Her work explores debriefing methodologies, simulation frameworks, and technology integration in clinical training.

• Fellow in the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (2022)
• Treasured Pirate Award, East Carolina University (2017)

She has secured grants for projects such as Methods of Identifying Neurological Delirium (2018-2022) and Expanding Clinical Capacity Through Shared Human Patient Simulators (2007-2008). Her lab collaborations include the Brody School of Medicine and Eastern AHEC. Dr. Gantt also serves on the Society of Simulation in Healthcare Standards and Technical Sub-Committee (2015) and reviews for journals like Journal of Emergency Nursing and Clinical Simulation in Nursing.
