Laura-Solmaz Litschel is a Researcher and doctoral candidate at the Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research (BIM), Humboldt University Berlin, with an affiliation to the Centre for Digital Cultures (CDC) at Leuphana University. Her work focuses on digitalization, migration, nocturnal platform labor, and smart cities.
Education: M.A. from University of Bremen, B.A. from University of Göttingen and University of Córdoba. Current research explores how smart city transformations shape nocturnal urban spaces and labor practices through digital platforms.
Key projects include the HERA-funded NITE initiative analyzing night spaces in six European countries. She actively presents at international conferences like EASA, SIEF, and UCL, addressing platform labor dynamics and urban mobility.
Teaching includes 'Anthropology of the Night' (Summer 2022) at Humboldt University's Institute for European Ethnology. Her publications bridge academic and journalistic discourse on digital labor and urban sociology.
