Laura Sams Haynes is a Senior Academic Professional and Director of the Office of Outreach in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Georgia Institute of Technology. She specializes in advancing access to higher education through innovative outreach programs and interdisciplinary collaboration.

- BA in English, Florida State University
Research & Initiatives: Focuses on bridging K-12 education with STEM fields through programs like Design.Thinking@ECE.GT (2023 summer experience for high school students) and GT PRIME (2024 middle school camp). Co-chaired the 2024 IEEE-sponsored Black Issues in Computing Education (BICE) Symposium in Santo Domingo.
Prior Roles: Former Director of Graduate Student Assessment and Retention at Clark Atlanta University (serving 700+ graduate students) and administrator of the Southern Regional Education Board's Doctoral Scholars Fellowship Program.
Labs/Teams: Leads ECE's outreach initiatives, collaborating with departments like Mechanical Engineering (ME), CEISMC, and CEED to expand educational access.
