Laura Ramirez Sainz is a Lecturer in Spanish Language Practice at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Siegen, Germany. She has held this position since April 2009, specializing in Spanish linguistics and language teaching methodology. Her academic work spans multiple institutions across Germany and Spain, with significant contributions to the field of Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE).
Her research interests focus on linguistic analysis, particularly contrastive studies between German and Spanish, with emphasis on spatial relations in morphology, Spanish grammar, and phonetics. She has developed innovative teaching approaches using fairy tales and cinematic resources to enhance language learning experiences. Her work bridges theoretical linguistics with practical language teaching applications.
Ramirez Sainz has published extensively on Spanish phonetics teaching methodology, with numerous articles exploring how cinematic resources, fairy tales, and cultural contexts can enhance language acquisition. Her recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate a strong focus on integrating digital environments like the Metaverse into language learning, while maintaining traditional linguistic analysis of motion verbs and spatial relations.
Her professional recognitions include multiple DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) examiner accreditations at various proficiency levels (A1-C2), reflecting her expertise in Spanish language assessment.
In addition to her research and teaching, Ramirez Sainz serves as Erasmus Department Coordinator for partnerships with several Spanish universities including Almería, Sevilla, Pablo de Olavide, and Málaga.
