Laura Putsche

Laura Putsche is an Emerita Assistant Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Culture, Society and Justice at University of Idaho's College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Washington State University (1993), with additional degrees in Mathematics and Education.

Her research specializes in indigenous communities of the Amazon region, examining cultural ecology, state-indigenous relations, and impacts of international development programs on traditional societies. She maintains particular interest in sustainable development approaches.

Her sole publication analyzes exercise impacts on visceral fat, indicating interdisciplinary collaboration in health sciences. Primary research focuses remain anthropological fieldwork and community engagement.
