Laura Peiffer-Siebert

Laura Peiffer-Siebert is a Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IWM) in Tübingen, where she has been employed since 2013 in various projects. Currently, she works in the Multimodal Interaction lab on the KuMuS-ProNeD project (2023-2026), developing VR, multi-touch, and AI applications for art, music, and sports education in collaboration with teachers.

Her educational background includes a Master’s degree in Art History and Educational Science (2013).

Peiffer-Siebert's research centers on cognitive and emotional processing in multimodal learning environments. She investigates how digital tools like VR and multi-touch tables can enhance educational experiences, particularly in museums, history lessons, and teacher training. Her work integrates educational psychology with human-computer interaction to design evidence-based digital learning solutions.

Recent trends in her research focus on collaborative and immersive technologies for historical and arts education. She explores how these tools foster empathy and self-perception in learners, with a strong emphasis on empirical evaluation in real-world educational settings.

Peiffer-Siebert has contributed to multiple funded projects, including KuMuS-ProNeD (focusing on digital innovations in teacher education) and Persecution and Administration (developing interactive exhibits for Holocaust education). She actively collaborates with schools, museums, and teacher training institutions.

As a core member of the Multimodal Interaction lab, she works closely with interdisciplinary teams across the IWM, including the Realistic Depictions and e-teaching Transfer labs, to advance the design and implementation of cutting-edge educational technologies.
