Dr. Laura Padberg is a Research Professor and Academic Councillor at the University of Paderborn's Institute for Photonic Quantum Systems (PhoQS). She leads the Quantum Photonics Technology group, focusing on advanced materials and devices in quantum optics. Her roles include academic governance and research leadership. She teaches Physikalisches Fortgeschrittenenpraktikum and Integrierte Optik und Photonik.
Her research emphasizes lithium niobate-based photonic materials, nonlinear optics, and domain engineering. Recent work explores thin-film properties, doping effects, and waveguide losses in quantum photonic systems. She collaborates extensively on applied physics projects with industrial and academic partners.
Publications highlight advancements in crystal engineering, bi-photon source design, and photonic integration. Her work bridges fundamental materials science with practical quantum technology applications.
