Laura Miles-Banta

Laura Miles-Banta is a Lecturer in the Department of Child & Adolescent Development at San Francisco State University, affiliated with the College of Health & Social Sciences. With over 15 years of teaching experience at SF State and 30 years in Early Childhood Education (ECE) fields, she specializes in social-emotional development and family engagement. Her educational background includes a B.A. in Liberal Studies and an M.A. in Early Childhood Education, both from SF State.

Research interests focus on fostering healthy child development through familial and educational interventions. She advocates for holistic approaches that integrate emotional well-being with academic growth. Laura’s professional contributions extend to curriculum development and community outreach in early childhood spaces.
