Laura Menzies is a Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of Liverpool Management School. She serves as Director of Skills, overseeing undergraduate academic advising systems, and previously held the PRME Lead role (2020-2022) to integrate sustainability and ethics into the school's operations. Her research focuses on applying operations management tools in public sector systems, including healthcare, social housing, and social services. She earned a PhD from the University of Liverpool examining housing within healthcare systems, alongside an MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management and a BA in Business Studies.
Her teaching emphasizes experiential learning in Operations Management and Sustainable Supply Chain courses. Awards include the 2024 Scholarship Award for Established Researcher and multiple Teaching Excellence Awards (2017-2019). She actively contributes to committees such as the School's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Athena Swan Self Assessment Team. Professional affiliations include NHS Procurement Development and East Cheshire Hospice.
Recent projects include mapping the Management School's curriculum against UN Sustainable Development Goals and leading research on hybrid learning methodologies. She also reviews for journals like Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management and Developing Academic Practice.
