Laura Marcon

Laura Marcon is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies (ISTC-CNR) and a member of the Laboratory of Agent-Based Social Simulation (LABSS). Her research focuses on the dynamics of social norms and behavioral change under conditions of risk and uncertainty.

• Currently involved in the Norms at Risk project, examining global factors affecting social norms and trendsetters in social networks
• Broader work includes research on working time reduction, social capital-inequality relationships during ecological transitions, and social inference mechanisms
• Combines surveys (social sciences), lab experiments (experimental economics), and philosophical frameworks in her interdisciplinary approach
• Investigates applications of joint commitments to overcome pluralistic ignorance and in-group/out-group dynamics
