Laura M. Pipe

Laura M. Pipe is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Kinesiology and Director of the University Teaching and Learning Commons (UTLC) at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She leads initiatives in teaching innovation, accessibility, and student success, with a focus on decolonial praxis and Indigenous pedagogies. Her work integrates action sports studies, trauma-informed practices, and universal design for learning (UDL).

Research interests include decolonial methodologies, Indigenous knowledge systems, and the intersection of physical activity with spatial theory. She co-created the 'Toward a Liberated Learning Spirit (TALLS)' model to foster critical consciousness in education.

Teaching spans sport sociology, critical analyses of physical activity, and mixed/qualitative research methods in kinesiology. She advises UNCG’s Native American Student Association (NASA) and serves on committees for accessibility, AI oversight, and equity/diversity initiatives.

Certifications include Universal Design for Learning credentials (CAST), Gallup Strengths Coaching, and Harvard’s case-teaching methodology.
