Laura L. Benesch

Laura L. Benesch is an Adjunct Professor and Director of BSSW Field Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato, within the College of Allied Health and Nursing's Social Work department. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota, she has over 15 years of experience in human service organizations, including roles in K-12 school systems, outpatient/residential treatment programs, and in-home counseling for children and families. Her work also spans federal/state employment and training programs for adults and adolescents in Southern Minnesota.

She has served as an adjunct faculty member, off-site field instructor for BSSW students, and Interim MSW Field Director. Laura completed the Minnesota Board of Social Work's 30-hour Social Work Supervisor training and has mentored students in both BSSW and MSW programs.

Laura's research and practice interests align with Clinical Social Work, Child and Family Services, School Social Work, and Employment Training Programs, reflecting her extensive fieldwork in community mental health and public health social work.

She received the Minnesota Social Service Association Outstanding Staff Achievement Award for Region IX in 2012, recognizing her contributions to social services in South Central Minnesota.
