Laura Huth serves as Assistant Professor in the College of Health Sciences at Chatham University, joining the faculty in July 2023 with extensive clinical and academic experience in occupational therapy.
Her educational credentials include:
- EdD in Leadership and Administration from Point Park University (2021)
- Master of Occupational Therapy from Chatham University (2000)
- BA in Psychology from Duquesne University (1998)
Dr. Huth's research examines Leadership, Mental Health across the lifespan, Memory Care, Aging in place, Seating and Positioning, Assistive Technology, and Accessibility. Her work addresses critical challenges in mental health interventions and aging populations through therapeutic innovations and environmental adaptations.
Her publication record focuses on simulation pedagogy in occupational therapy education, analyzing how student observation and participation roles impact learning confidence and feedback efficacy. This research advances evidence-based teaching methodologies in health professions education.
Dr. Huth maintains National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy and holds specialized credentials as a Second Winds Dreams Virtual Dementia Tour Certified Trainer and Alzheimer’s Association Community Educator. She actively participates in the American Occupational Therapy Association and Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association.
