Laura Geldermann is a Researcher at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, within the Didactics of Mathematics group. She holds a Master of Education in Mathematics and History with a focus on education, obtained from the same university (2019-2023). Her work focuses on probabilistic thinking in secondary education and the professionalization of mathematics teachers. Current projects include 'MaCo - Mathematics Recovery after Corona' and 'QuaMath - Developing Teaching and Training Quality in Mathematics.' She contributes to research on diagnosing students' understanding of statistical concepts through representation linking. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and History (2015-2019) and Abitur from Blote-Vogel Schule in Witten (2014). Her master's thesis explored stochastic perceptions among students with varying learning prerequisites, titled 'Desto weniger die Wurfanzahl ist, umso mehr geht es um Glück!' Her research bridges educational theory and classroom practice, emphasizing teacher training and student cognitive development in probability and statistics.
