معرفی
Laura Engelhardt is a Research Associate at the Institute for Computational Mechanics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). She holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from TUM (2020) and a B.Sc. in the same field (2017). Her work focuses on continuum-mechanical modeling of musculoskeletal systems, particularly human shoulder biomechanics and constitutive modeling of active skeletal muscle tissue.
Her research utilizes the 4C Multi-Physics Simulation Framework, with applications in computational modeling, finite element analysis, and muscle activation dynamics. She has supervised numerous student projects on topics such as tendon morphology, visualization techniques, and spatial activation distributions in muscle models. Notable collaborations include work with Renate Sachse and Wolfgang A. Wall.
Recent publications highlight her contributions to
- constitutive modeling of skeletal muscle,
- activation-driven musculoskeletal simulations,
- and probabilistic biomechanical analysis.
She teaches the Numerical Biomechanics Lab (2021-2025), emphasizing visualization, finite element methods, and high-performance computing for engineering applications.
