Laura Delaney is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at King's Business School (King's College London) since September 2021, previously affiliated with City, University of London. She holds a PhD in Economics from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc in Applicable Mathematics from the London School of Economics. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2020, her research focuses on decision-making under uncertainty, optimal stopping, and real options analysis. She serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control and Bulletin of Economic Research.
Her research spans interdisciplinary applications including healthcare decision-making (e.g., pulmonary valve replacement timing, transplant listing windows) and financial economics (e.g., irreversible investment under uncertainty, high-frequency trading technology). Recent work emphasizes game-theoretic models and operational delays in strategic decisions.
Publications reflect her expertise in real options theory, with contributions to journals such as Economic Theory, Economics Letters, and European Journal of Operational Research. Beyond research, she actively mentors students and contributes to academic governance roles.
