Laura Delabastide

Laura Delabastide is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Pace University’s College of Health Professions, affiliated with the Graduate Department LSN in New York City. With over 20 years of clinical experience as a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary and urgent care, she brings extensive practical expertise to her academic role.

Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the development of critical thinking and emotional intelligence in nursing students, grounded in evidence-based practice and aligned with AACN’s Domains for Nursing Education. She teaches key graduate-level courses such as Advanced Physical Assessment Across the Lifespan, Advanced Theory and Practice for Family Nurse Practitioners, and Scholarly Inquiry in Evidence-Based Advanced Nursing Practice.

Her research interests include pediatrics, pediatric mental health, pediatric obesity, and HPV vaccination hesitancy. These areas reflect her clinical background and public health engagement, particularly in community-focused pediatric care and immunization advocacy.
