Laura Dahl serves as Senior Lecturer and Director of Collaborative Piano in Stanford University's Department of Music. She teaches collaborative piano, solo piano, chamber music, art song interpretation, and diction courses (MUSIC 170, 182, 183A/B).

Her expertise centers on collaborative performance practices, with specialized focus on vocal diction using the International Phonetic Alphabet for German, French, and Italian repertoire. She emphasizes rhythmic precision, phrasing, balance, and interpretive communication in chamber music settings. Her educational approach integrates masterclasses with visiting artists through the A. Jess Shenson Recital Series.
Dahl has received recognition as the first musician awarded the German Chancellor’s Scholar fellowship. Her professional activities include festival direction, performance coaching, and educational outreach.

She mentors students through performance collaborations and directs two major initiatives: the A. Jess Shenson Recital Series (since 2005) providing masterclasses and recitals at Stanford, and Music by the Mountain – a Northern California chamber music festival with educational outreach programs funded by the California Arts Council and Shasta Regional Foundation. Her prior appointments include coaching roles at San Francisco Conservatory, New England Conservatory, and University of Michigan Opera Theater, plus teaching at Tokyo's New National Theatre Young Artists Program.
Dahl maintains active performance engagements at venues including Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonic, and Davies Symphony Hall while leading rural community music initiatives through her non-profit organization.
